Registered Midwife

Teacher of Fascial Kinetics (Bowen Therapy)

I happened upon Bowen after 13 years of working as a Midwife within the NZ health sector and seeing growing need and shrinking resources. I was looking for a way to give real assistance to the many people I meet who are suffering with pain, injury and poor health.

I trained in Massage Therapy in 2014 and this really consolidated my belief in the ability of the body to heal itself with the right inputs.

I see pregnancy massage as one way to really nurture a woman in her pregnancy journey and it is my favourite type of massage to give. For pregnancy complaints I recommend Bowen Therapy for relief of discomfort, but am comfortable with responding to the needs of my clients.

It was in a chance encounter with a stranger that I was told of a simple, effective technique that led me to the Bowen Technique (Fascial Kinetics).

It was the word "fascia" that piqued my interest. I was intrigued about my own response to myofascial release in 2014 and quickly believed that the Fascia held the answers to many of the body's mysteries. The more I learn and see through this work the more I believe this to be true.

My first personal experience of Bowen therapy was actually in my first day of training. I respond very quickly to body work and this was no exception. I had a sensation of tingling travelling through my whole body. My system responded quickly and gently, aligning itself over the next few days. Over a few treatments my coccyx which had been painfully niggling at me for 2 years completely disappeared. I now have a treatment once a month for maintenance of my wellbeing.

Now I am excited to be able to offer workshops teaching Fascial Kinetics to others. This exciting modality is easy to learn and will almost certainly change your life, to find out more check out my page on this site or see www.fascialkinetics.com
